Men's Recovery Program

PROGRAM DETAIL

Recovery is not an event. It is a process in which clients may struggle with their commitment to abstinence-based living, and remaining free from mood-altering substances. We recognize that for some the journey is difficult, filled with unexpected hazards, and uncomfortable emotions. Some men may feel the progress is too slow, while others may find recovery is filled with challenge and excitement.

OUR PROGRAM IS DIVIDED INTO THREE PHASES

PHASE I

Intro to recovery, stabilization and spiritual concepts. Stage one recovery, challenging values, and an intro to the Gospels. This phase takes one to three months.

PHASE II

Life skills, anger management, and relapse prevention. In stage 2 recovery, these programs run for three months.

PHASE III

Third stage life skills with a focus on continuing education, recovery from damaged credit and reentry into the workforce. This stage is open ended.

Our primary treatment model is peer-based group work. Clients spend up to three hours a day in group therapy. There is the potential for clients to spend two hours a day with their peer group in non-counselor led interactions. We believe that treatment, above all, should be experiential. Therapy happens in the here and now. Each client has the opportunity to regularly meet with a counselor throughout the treatment program, either at the counselor's request or at the clients.

Clients who enter our residential treatment program are closely monitored for the first seven days while they meet with their counselors and begin their assessment process. The following week they begin written work including 12 step programs, and group therapy. Classroom time will vary upon lectures, to educational information, and life skills material. All clients are assigned daily and weekly chores.
